While there is plenty of room for innovation, consumers do show that familiarity breeds contentment: 51% of consumers prefer reaching for snacks they know and love, valuing satisfaction over novelty. Interestingly, indulgence isn't just for the young at heart—Boomers lead the pack when it comes to snacking for pleasure; 60% of Boomers snack to treat themselves, compared to 48% of Gen Z and 52% of Millennials. However, in almost all other aspects, Gen Z and Millennials drive the growth in snacking to new, delicious heights.
